We made it!
Two weeks ago we decided that we were going to try to jog from our house to my parents house in Santaquin (about 6.25 miles). It was super freezing, and the wind was blowing super hard against us. We only ended up running about half a mile total, and walking for much too much of the time. The wind would die down a bit, and then we would say, "ok we are going to run now". Then, of course, the wind would start blowing hard again. We made it about four miles, and then called my dad to come pick us up. It was a fun experience, and the scenery was beautiful, but we were a little bummed that we didn't make it. Two days ago, we decided to try it again, and we made it!! This time we actually jogged for almost the whole thing (except the last half mile, because I'm a wuss. lol). The weather was perfect. It was a little bit chilly, and we felt absolutely no wind until we were in Santaquin...perfect! My dad was getting ready to give us a ride home when Greg suggested that we just run home. Uh, no way! I know that he is going to have no trouble with the half-marathon, and it made me feel great that I can now do half of a half marathon. :) Also, I have been in a 1st grade classroom for the last two weeks for my field experience. This is my last week and I already have that happy/sad feeling. I'm happy to be one step closer to graduation, but I'm bummed to be leaving such an awesome class. First-graders are the best! Now comes all of the 60 page assignments that are going to be due too. Ah well, I can't wait to be a teacher! I also can't believe that I'm going to be a senior this fall. It's taken long enough :) but I still can't believe it. Anyway, life is good. General conference was wonderfully refreshing and enjoyable, as always, and we are definately keeping super busy.
